In addition to storytelling, the Southern woman's guide to life underscores the importance of aesthetics. For my words to mean anything, they need a delightful presentation. That was the beginning of my graphic design career. I studied graphic design in my undergraduate education and began working in the industry while pursuing my master's degree. Since that time, design has become an integral part of my ability to write. For me, presentation and content are equally important -- my brain can't understand one without the other. My philosophies are: The wrapping has to match the present and white space is happy space.

2014-2015 College Catalog In Fall 2014, I worked with senior administrators to update the 2014-2015 College Catalog. During the 2013-2014 academic year I spearheaded an effort to redesign the catalog so that it was more aesthetically pleasing, but, more importantly, more functional for use by faculty, staff and students. Carnival-themed Food Card	Hangover Kit Tag This hangover kit tag was designed for a bachelorette party. The tag was attached to a make-up bag packed with hangover essentials such as Tylenol, a face mask, and a bottle of water. The make-up bag had a strong black and hot pink zebra pattern so the client requested a simple but bold tag.	Owl Love You This "Owl Love You" graphic was created for a couple who really enjoyed to play on the word "owl." The color scheme is a basic teal and deep gray that maintains the simplicity of the message.
